to treat patients or the average joe by genetically
modifying yeast which could then be used in the
brewing process.

The third place: (N) is a place for community building, referring to social surroundings separate from the two usual social environments of home and the workplace. In his influential book The Great Good Place, Ray Oldenburg (1989, 1991) argues that third places are important for civil society, democracy, civic engagement, and establishing feelings of a sense of place.

Origins of The Third Place for Thought
The Third Place for Thought was created fall quarter 2008 by the Senior Class of Industrial Design at the University of Cincinnati's college of Design Architecture Art and Planning. After five years of school and almost 6 co-op opportunities scattered across the world and bridging into other disciplines- we realized we all have a lot to say and share, and we learn the most from each other. The third Place for Thought was created as a medium to share ideas, creative finds, and thoughts in a collaborative manor as we complete our final year of school.
